Sawdust News September 2023

A Message from Mike

Can we talk about math for a minute? As you know too well, math scores are down the most in students who are already lagging – making a tough situation even worse. The good news is that we hear over and over how using hands-on, real-world applications brings math to life and engages all students.

How much can this improve math scores, especially on standardized tests? We want to help you figure that out! Many schools are running control-expose conditions which can help isolate woodworking as a dominant variable, and you can too.

Together, we can PROVE what we see with our eyes and accelerate the introduction of novel and effective learning.

We are starting to collaborate with schools with anonymized data. If you want to join us, please let me know at mike@maplewoodshop.com.
