Our mission is to equip a million children with skills that they will
use for a lifetime through hand tool woodworking.
Many people learn best by applying skills as they learn the concepts. We create lesson plans that align to national education standards but allow teachers to deliver practical ways to learn math, science, design, and even social studies. When kids apply these concepts with their hands, they can apply them again in real world situations. For example, it is one thing to learn about fractions, it is another to visually estimate the middle of a board to know where a nail should go. We teach how to divide lengths visually, then show how those distances relate to halves, quarters, and eights. We are now working with authors to develop really fun geometry lesson plans.
