Mike Schloff, founder
is an experienced local woodworker and parent of a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old. Mike has taught woodworking at Maplewoodshop, at Maker Faires and at a collective school in Montclair, and as an enrichment teacher at Tuscan. He has worked with elementary school children in classroom settings in Hoboken. He has also taught ESL and has mentored people over his 20-year professional career as a digital product manager. Mike is a member of the North Jersey Woodworkers Association.
Erin Doppes, teacher
came to Maplewoodshop as a maker, an educator and a fan of hands-on learning. After years in the classroom, Erin worked in educational outreach at thirteen/WNET New York, where she wrote and facilitated train-the-trainer programs, creating ongoing curriculum and support services for teachers and families. A content producer at heart, Erin moved into creative development for children's television where she developed engaging worlds for the preschool set. Erin is the mother to three boys who consistently test her creativity and enable her to put child development theory into practice.
Jonathan Sidhu, teacher
is an experienced local woodworker and teacher at Maplewoodshop. Prior to taking up his endeavor with Maplewoodshop Jonathan spent 15+ years in high-tech marketing. Jonathan is dad to two budding 10-year-old woodworkers. He has worked as a teacher in the US & abroad. Jonathan is a member of the North Jersey Woodworkers Association.
